Avalanche

I haven’t even attempted to do this in some time;

It is said that an object in motion stays in motion. One little change at a time slowly builds into an avalanche that cannot help but build and grow faster and faster.

Those little snowflakes that started it can be found in the center. Mushy on the inside, from being hidden by all the others. There, but buried.

Some have fallen off, even ones you used to know. New ones fill in the cracks like mud on drywall. Enough sanding and you wouldn’t even know it’s been patched.

There are parts you wouldn’t even recognize. Better, cooler, sturdier parts.

My feet used to be full of concrete, too afraid to get the ball rolling.

Now I roll.

Change is never easy. I’m getting better, just not at forgetting.
